I was sentenced to natural life for Homicide by the Detroit Recorder’s Court on July 2, 1985. I have maintained my innocence because I was framed by homicide detective James Harris !! Harris eventually served his own prison sentence for witness tampering and other corrupt actions resulting in unlawful imprisonments.
My attorney James T. Kiles became my lawyer just two days before my murder and was unprepared and grossly ineffective. He was later convicted of murdering his client and stealing 30,000 from his client because he was hooked on cocaine, proving he was also hooked on it when he was my lawyer!
I currently have a motion pending in front of the honorable Wanda Evans, filed in 2018, raising the issue that the jury was never instructed on a second-degree murder charge, although sentencing judge Warfield Moore assured the defense and the jury he would properly instruct them with both first degree and second-degree murder, to which I was entitled!!
I am actually innocent of this crime, and for more than 39 years have been living in this nightmare! I just discovered the mistrial I was given in 1985 was also double jeopardy and a miscarriage of justice, just as the two first-degree murder charges the judge gave to the jury are.
