I'm Anthony Frierson, and I need some help to prove that I was wrongfully convicted. The Detroit Police Department and the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office are making it very difficult for me to obtain all the evidence I need to fully establish my wrongful conviction. My case is very similar to the Desmond Ricks case. People V. Ricks, Third Circuit Court Case No: (92-003680).
As in the Ricks' case, who was exonerated, my case also involves officer David Pauch, the Ballistics/Firearms Expert from the Detroit Police Crime Lab, where he introduced false/fabricated ballistics evidence into my trial as well.
In Rick’s case, Pauch intentionally switched the slugs that were retrieved from the deceased by the Medical Examiner, with the test-fire comparison bullets in a successful effort to wrongfully convict Ricks.
In my case, in 1999, Pauch introduced into evidence what he claimed was a test-fire comparison bullet, and a damaged .30 caliber metal jacket bullet, which was the two pieces of evidence introduced at trial (Evidence Tag 483236 – Exhibit 13).
It is impossible for the evidence that Pauch introduced -- to be what he claims -- as it was a damaged bullet. Test fire comparison bullets are fired through the test weapon into a water tank so they remain undamaged preserving their condition and form. After firing the test bullet into the water tank the slug is retrieved (undamaged).
The barrel of the test-fire weapon leaves distinguished markings on the test slug. This test slug is then compared to the slugs retrieved from the deceased. If the slugs from the deceased match the test-fired slug then there is a strong presumption the slugs from the deceased were fired from that gun/barrel, and the gun can then be considered the murder weapon.
The new evidence in my case reveals that the .30 caliber test fire slug could not be shot from an (SKS) as alleged, which is further indication that the alleged test slug introduced by Pauch is not what he claimed.
l need a Ballistics/Firearms Expert to confirm this by retesting the two pieces of evidence on Evidence Tag 483236, Exhibit-13 that were retrieved from the body of the deceased by the medical examiner.
I have all the documented evidence to prove that I am telling the truth. The Conviction Integrity Unit has been reviewing my case for over (4) four years now. And Cooley Law School has been reviewing my case for over (3) years in April 2022.
